Jyothi Engineering College (JEC), established in 2002 under the aegis of the Trichur Educational Trust, founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur, is one of Kerala's leading autonomous Engineering institutions. Affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), Thiruvananthapuram, the college offers eight undergraduate, four postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Engineering, Science and Technology. Backed by over 125 years of educational excellence of the Archdiocese, JEC has a vibrant academic community of more than 2,100 students and 175+ faculty members.

JEC is re-accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A', while six undergraduate programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), reflecting the institution's commitment to academic excellence. Autonomous status enables the college to offer an industry-relevant curriculum, innovative teaching methods, value-added courses and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for higher education, professional careers and entrepreneurship.

The rapid pace of technological advancement demands graduates with both technical depth and interdisciplinary skills. JEC develops T-shaped professionals through project-based learning, internships, industry interaction, research, leadership development and skill enhancement programmes, equipping students to thrive in a constantly evolving global environment.

To strengthen industry readiness, JEC has established the Integrated Industrial Incubation Centre (IIIC) in association with TATA Technologies, providing students with exposure to advanced engineering tools, industry-standard software and real-world product development practices.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, the JEC Technology Business Incubator (JEC TBI) nurtures innovation, supports technology-based start-ups and encourages research, product development and intellectual property creation, empowering students to become job creators rather than job seekers.
