IEEE is a non profit professional association with more than 3,67,000 members including 73,000 students in over 150 countries. The global organization helps and supports development and application of technology and science around the world for the benefit of the humanity, the individual and the professional IEEE serves as a major publisher of scientific journals and as a conference organizer. It is also a leading developer of industrial standards in broad range of disciplines including electric power, and energy, biomedical technology and health care, information technology, information assurance, telecommunications and nano technology. IEEE develops and participates in educational activities such as accreditation of electrical engineering programmes in institutions of higher learning.
A unit of IEEE functions in our college and our members take active part in its programmes. HUB level and National level programmes are organized in the college. WIE (Wowen in Engineering), an affinity group of IEEE is also very active in the campes.

How to Make (Almost) Anything is a one day workshop on Digital Fabrication conducted on 18th March 2022, organised by IEDC-JEC in association with IEEE, IEEE-IAS. The resource person was Mr. Abel Tomy, awardee of the ‘FAME’ award by FABLAB. It was conducted at the college FabLab. The event had 30 registrants. An overview of Fabrication machines was shared while keeping a constant interactive conversation with the participants. A component was also fabricated on the UltiMaker 2+ 3D printer and breezed through each machine at the FabLab.Total 17 Students from various department attended the program.

Mr. Majeendran K , Lab Instructor , EEE Department handle the session . All students familiarized with PCB design tool Proteus ARES and manufactured their own PCB on copper clad with toner transfer method.

As part of the selection process for best ideas to be presented at INNOVATE an initiative by A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University for their technological fest KETKON to find the best solutions to the problems faced in the society in which IEDC collaborated with IEEE in hosting the event. The Ideation was judged by Fr.Dr.A K George,Mr. Biju C V,Dr. Anitha Jacob and Mr. Dany Varghese.The top 5 ideas selected from the college out of the 30 ideas screened were: 1. Android Development & Rhino 3D Workshop

It has conducted in two places, one Android Development in Decennial Hall & other Rhino 3D software in CADD Lab, Civil Dept. About 55 students in Android Development & 33 Students in Rhino 3D participated. The Resource person for the Android Development workshop was Mohammed Thasneem P Software Engineer at Claysys Technology, Infopark, Kochi. The resource persons for the Rhino 3D software workshop were Mr. Athif Kurukkoli, Mr. Nizamudin K.Y., Mr. Riyas P.K. from Freelance Technology Innovationist, Fab Academy Graduates, Ex-Technology Innovation Fellow.

IEEE SB Jyothi Engineering College organized two day national workshop AZIKSA 15 - Raspberry pi Python on August 7 & 8 ,2015. The Workshop inaugurated by the principal Dr.K.K.Babu. The workshop is conducted by ACT IIT,Kharakpur & Tech Bharath and the resource person was Mr. Nayen Mujadiya, R&D Engineer Sr I, Synopsys India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.
