M.Tech

The Department of Electronics and Communication started the Master of Technology programme in Communication Engineering and Signal Processing in the year 2017. The programme started with an intake of 18 students.

The M.Tech programme in Electronics and Communication provides an overview of the recent developments in the various areas of Communication Engineering and Signal Processing. GATE scholarships are offered to eligible candidates. Students who successfully complete the programme are employed in the industry. Alternatively, they can pursue higher studies in institutions of repute in India and abroad.

ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS LAB

The purpose of this lab is to build and observe the operation of simple electric circuits and to learn measurement methods for electric current and voltage using ammeters and voltmeters.

LOGIC DESIGN LAB

Digital systems are designed to store, process, and communicate information in digital form. They are found in a wide range of applications, including process control, communication systems, digital instruments, and consumer products. The digital computer, more commonly called the computer, is an example of a typical digital system.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB

The Laboratory of Digital Signal Processing  is a  laboratory with the aim of connecting students and supervising lecturers. The resulting connection between teaching and research enables the integration of existing and current industrial knowledge into teaching.The objective of the laboratory is to enable the students to simulate and experiment with digital signals and systems and to apply the theory they have studied

The primary objective of the project lab is to facilitate and support development of projects, products or techniques/technology aimed at specific end use.

ELECTRONICS WORKSHOP

MP & MC LAB

Microprocessors and Microcontrollers laboratory helps the students to develop their knowledge on processor architecture and the programming skills. This laboratory houses the hardware which includes 8085 Microprocessor trainer kits, 8086 Microprocessor trainer kits, 8051 Microcontroller trainer kits, interfacing cards and software Keil-51. This laboratory provides hand-on experience to interface I/O devices, perform A/D and D/A conversions, design digital clock, traffic light control system etc.

    1.IETE in association with ECSA organized a technical talk on "Need of Electronic Engineers in Cyber Security" by Mr.Dinu Vincent Alumini of ECE department on 2.11.23 as a part of ECSA association inauguration.

    • “52nd Engineer’s Day Celebrations” Organized by IEI (ECE), Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering On 25th September 2019 at 11:00 A.M. On this day shri.V.G.SHANKARANARAYANAN (CHAIRMAN, IE(I) LOCAL CHAPTER, THRISSUR) was the chief guest and gave a lecture on “Engineering for Change”.

    Sooraj O R and Namboodiri Swathi Vasudevan of S6 ECE of Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur has won a grant of Rs 30,000 as part of Idea day presentation held at IIM Calicut on 5th February 2018 organised by Kerala Startup Mission. The idea presented was ‘EXTRA HOME SCURITY SYSTEM’ which mainly concerns about the security of home. The idea was presented infront of a panel of experts and was appreciated by the officials. More than 300 Ideas were presented and 20 ideas were sanctioned for the grant.
